我们建造了一个穹顶。
穹顶大概是人类所能创造的最完美的结构。通过一种基础而直接的“拱”的空间表达，它以最极致的方式超越了物理与精神。置身穹顶之下，似乎有些超现实——这种体验超越物质空间，无法以日常的知觉方式来理解。
本次竞赛任务是为一家家具制造商设计一个装置，这项有趣的工作引发了我们的双重联想：一方面，业主希望以这个装置体现其为现代家庭提供优质生活的使命；另一方面，在词源学上，拉丁语“DUOMO”既是教堂的穹顶，也包含“家”的含义。这两种含义存在某种紧密而微妙的关联，成为设计的出发点。
我们的设计是一座“建筑里的建筑”，抽象了一个文艺时期的教堂。木框架围合成八边形，从中部至顶部升起一个穹顶空间。外部看是开敞的结构，而当参观者弯腰进入，角色便从“看”转为“被看”——参观者成为展览的一部分，如一只笼中之鸟。身体被包裹在半围合的空间里，隔绝外部现实，成为一个微小的独立世界。展览图像以立体影像的方式投映在层层叠叠的环幕之上，根据气氛需求营造不同场景，如同一幅教堂天顶画。装置内部柔和的光线与线条，让人联想起云朵、森林和雨滴。
我们并未强化古典教堂的形态，而是将空间定义为介于传统与现代之间的状态——既非古典，也非全新，而是一种调和的开放状态。

We built a dome.
The dome is perhaps the most perfect structure humans have ever created. Through the fundamental, direct expression of the arch, it transcends both the physical and the spiritual. To stand beneath a dome feels surreal—an experience beyond material space, beyond everyday perception.
The competition brief called for an installation for a furniture manufacturer. It sparked a twofold association: the client wished to express its mission of providing quality life for modern homes; and etymologically, the Latin "duomo" means both cathedral dome and home. This subtle yet profound connection became our starting point.
Our design is a "building within a building"—abstracting a Renaissance church. A wooden frame forms an octagon, rising to a dome at the top. Seen from outside, it is open; but when visitors bend to enter, they shift from "seeing" to "being seen"—becoming part of the exhibition, like birds in a cage. Encased in a semi-enclosed space, they inhabit a small world detached from external reality. Exhibition imagery is projected as stereoscopic visions onto layered screens, creating changing atmospheres like a frescoed ceiling. The soft light and lines evoke clouds, forests, and raindrops.
We did not replicate a classical church. The space is defined as between tradition and modernity—neither classical nor entirely new, but an open, reconciled structure.
